FUNCEDESCRI’s training centers serve as the headquarters for our work in each of our partner communities. FUNCEDESCRI has six training centers:
- Rural Life and Technology Center in the Cerro Alux Nature Reserve in San Lucas, Sacatepéquez
- K’ulbaalib’ Xechulub Center in Xemamatzé, Nebaj, El Quiché
- Xecamjaw Center in Cunén, Quiché
- Seholobob Center in Setaña, Campur, Alta Verapaz
- K’uub’ Mokooch Center in Birmania, Campur, Alta Verapaz
- The Foundation Forestry School in San Jerónimo, Baja Verapaz
These centers host training sessions related to sustainable agriculture, the cultivation of medicinal plants and vegetables, animal husbandry, and the use of appropriate technologies. The centers also house processing facilities for goods that families sell to the center for production and sale. Our hope is that the centers in each community may serve as a bustling hub of our work and a place for community members to come together to work towards common goals and strengthen community organization.
